Who Can Join?
Our programming is designed to cover topics that are unique to the Afghan community. Anyone who self identifies as Afghan is invited to be our esteemed guest. This includes first-/second-generation Afghans and newcomers.
The Afghan Youth Book Club (AYBC) prioritizes serving Afghan youth and young adults across the Greater Toronto Area. However, cool khalas and kakas are more than welcome to register!
Participants are expected to read assigned pages prior to the weekly discussion. We will meet every Thursday from 6 pm to 7 pm over an 8 week period. At the end of the program, committed members will recieve a gift card.
We believe in the power of a good book.
AYBC is an Afghan youth-led grassroots mobilizing to invest in youth today in order to empower the next generation by providing an accesible space to critically read and collectively reflect on culturally relevant literature.
Our team centers programs around addressing cultural, economic and knowledge barriers to support fellow Afghan youth in Canada.
